For the price, I'd expect to be able to change the battery. That's a fundamental design requirement in a piece of kit like this.

Of course, like the rule of thumb for 220 - your age, zones are generally in that bracket.

I trained best on a non HRM rule of thumb:

running at converstaional pace = fat burning
running at "can speak but only to answer simple questions" = cardio
running at "couldn't speak, more likely to vomit" = close to max

😛

I'm still yet to meet a person who doesn't sweat though. 😉

LOL!

When I said not to sweat, yeah, everyone sweats but some more than others, I dont particularly sweat too much, expecially on my chest, back more-so.

The original poster might want to look at.....

www.muscletalk.co.uk

There is a very good Cardio and Fitness section there. Enter "Polar" as a search, you might even see one of my old posts!! 😛

Yeah, that was a real pisser when i read the instructions. They are for sale on internet sites. Not sure of price. Or you can send it back to Polar and they will send a new strap (not for free though). It's a sealed unit. I've had mine for several years so far.

One of the nice things about Polar products is that most gym treadmills support them.

You don't even have to wear the watch monitor itself -- just the chest strap, and the treadmill picks up the data. The cool part is that if you are doing a "zone" workout, the machine will adjust speed and incline to keep your heart in the appropriate zone. Nice stuff.

the wiki article has a picture of a strapless model. looks like the strap is on the thumb instead of the chest, maybe.
