Question:
does this only apply to those without amazon accounts? (I'd suspect so: there's little 'advertising' to registered users). In which case many common amazon users wouldn't effect anything. Maybe chess-specific links amazon might pay for, but then there's a big reduction in number of buys.
Would also need to have location-specific links (amazon.com, .co.uk, .au and so on and so on).

As for the specific locale links, more than likely. But could start with .uk & .com maybe. But that one`s up to Russ and Chris.

Ok
I`ll let you all in on the "good cause". Another forum i use has an Amazon link and that site gets about 5% of any orders made through the link. So i thought it would help Russ out if those people on RHP who use Amazon could go through a link from this site. Russ just needs a bit of convincing, that people here would use the link.

I have used amazon.com and almost certainly will buy from them again.
OTOH, as I understand it (possibly MISunderstand it) the link makes money for the linker (e.g., RHP) if and only if the buyer connects directly to the product that is actually bought by way of the link. That is, if you connect to some random page on amazon.com from a link on RHP and then go on to some other page to make your purchase, the source (RHP) does not get a cut as they would if you went directly to a specific product (e.g., a chess book) and bought that.
I could easily be misinformed, so it would probably be good to check that out. If I do turn out to be wrong and any time you arrive at amazon from a link, the source of the link can get a cut, then I would make any and all amazon purchases via a link at RHP.

Paul

Yes, I've ordered there a couple times, and if Russ had a link that would help him make some cash.... I'd use that next time also!

I`m trying to gather information regarding online shopping. Mainly Amazon.co.uk or .com and would like to know how many people actually order anything from them.
So please people, just a simple yes or no will be fine.
This is for a very good cause by the way.
