@old-indian saidThis may not make it fair for those who are new paying subscribers and want to start playing in Clan games as soon as they can. If one is a paying subscriber wouldn't take long to get 20 games in actually!
Personally I think the provisional 1200 should be removed and when you start playing it should just say unrated until the 20 games are complete.

@very-rusty saidI bought a subscription today and tried to join a tournament and it said I couldn’t until I finished 20 games eh?

I don’t know how it is with clans.
But yes you are right eh?
@old-indian saidI know if you play fast players and you can tell who they are click on tables and look for 'Most Active' players. take the top 20 and you will have 20 games in very quickly as these people are the fastest moving players on the site, moving many times in the same day you may even finish off a game (or more) in a day if you willing to move that fast.

You already have 12 in you only need 8 more and you got them in a short time!

@Very-Rusty
Well, when I started playing here I got up to 35 and 0 before I met a real player....it was all down hill from there🙂
@badradger
26 and zero? I see a whole string of losses on your profile. Who are you trying to kid?
Yep, the TERROR of the 900 crowd......

@sonhouse saidExactly!

You’re a strong player
(Stronger than most)
I don’t think early cheating accusations help at all eh?
Wait and see first.
He could be a really good player!
They do exist eh?
Or take the time to check the games if you really want to know.
@old-indian
I did and he has a lot of games under his belt and he can't even beat a 1300 player much less someone my strength. (admittedly not THAT strong)
@old-indian saidChess isn't that hard anyone can learn to move the pieces learn openings, middle game, and end game. You can get books on all of it. I use to study a bit when I first got back into chess in 1993 and played in club tournaments. I worked my way to 1669 even won for most improved player one year....been all down hill since then....crap happens one gets older, things in life happen.
Poor guy eh?
Chess is so damn hard.
You really get out of chess what you want to put into it. I have more fun playing the game than studying it. I've started doing more tactic work now on here which helps, but make the same stupid mistakes. After all these years even got fools mated in 4 moves, by moving too quickly.
I've never played sonhouse but he does play players in the 1600 -1700 range and holds a good rating. I think he puts some work into it, you don't get to that level without doing so. I am assuming you've also put some work in your game calling an 1800 rating by the end of the year.

@sonhouse saidIt appears to be like you've held your own. Your won loss record is impressive!

@ghost-of-a-duke saidUnfriendlyGiant?
Forget his name, but same MO. Appears all friendly-like, saying he is new to the site and asking for games. He then wins 50 games straight and becomes progressively unpleasant in the forums, before getting a ban.
@old-indian saidAnother account... eh?
I study an annotated game every day eh?
I am not expecting much but anything over 1800 is strong.
I started as an adult so it’s all relative.
For me 1800 is a realistic goal and not a bad level of strength.
I do study but I study while drinking eh?
