So, to anyones knowledge, has Skeeter ever explained herself? Surely she knows people are calling her character into question.
I have claimed 3 timeouts, always sent reminders, and would never consider it if my oppenent were on vacation. I also never claim against pawnstars since they are less likely to 'never be seen again'. 😛
Maybe she could simply put in her profile something like the following: "I claim all time out victories every chance I get". If she were to do that her opponent would play her at their own peril and the controversy would be over...right?
I feel bad reading (and now participating) in Skeeter-bashing, and would love to hear an explination for what looks like pretty poor sportsmanship.

I don't mean to pry but I have to say that I am disappointed in all of this "skeeter-bashing." Winning by timeout is a part of the game on this site as well as in OTB play most of the time. If you don't want to get timed out you shouldn't let your time run out. As far as claiming timeouts with the vacation sign on goes, yes it's a little cheap but the games where she has done this were going to timeout anyway being tournament games. Again: Timeouts are part of the game: if you don't like it, don't play.

P.S. By the way, congratulations Skeeter. Good luck in holding the spot.
Originally posted by Cheshire CatI agree with the cat, the timeout is just part of the rules of the game. No one forces any players here to participate in tournamnets with 3 day time outs. If this could be an issue just don't enter, there are plenty of tournaments with other time out options.

skeeter found a trick:
make the game last as long as possible by moving at the last possible moment, and hope your opponent will take a vacation at some time, then time them out;- or just beat them over the board (a minor complication that most of skeeter's detractors neglect to recognise she does mostly do well).
timebank patches that timeut trick.
what will be the next trick?
- and will skeeter be the one to find and utilise it !!!!!!!!
suggested next trick :
play only against players who have been rated 1650 - 1700 for 20 or 30 games with no signs of increasing.
they will be sufficient to safely gain 1 rating point for each game.
(higher rated players risk a draw, and lower rated players give no rating points)
p.s. i am rated 1670 ish ;-)
Originally posted by flexmoreWhat a load of crock. In case you haven't noticed I only enter in open tourneys so the rating criteria does not apply. Whats more if you really think that I need to stoop to those tactics to obtain 'points' you should get councelling and/or therapy.

It's a fact. Take look at all your game from the moment you reached 2100...

As I am one of the "detractors" AND in the top 20 I just want to state that Skeeter's chess ability's are good but certainly not of best player of RHP status. The main reason she's at the top spot is timing out high rated players (most of them on vacation). I have yet to encounter a game against a top-20 player that she won or is winning with chess-ability. In the games she won on time-outs against (very) high rated players that I looked at she was in a lost position or equal at the most.
