I already promised someone on this site who lives in America that i'll be sending him a sphynx model.. From saudi arabia to America through fedex will reach in about 4 days.. But i'll be paying over $100, I'm planning to get russ a model as well!
Ask Daddy about inflation. Its a very reasonable way that Russ runs the site.

Just for the RHP memories 🙂
He deserves it seriously.. a great guy

Think i paid 19.99 camels last October. Will this be my charge this coming October or will it be the 29.99 camel rate? 😕
Originally posted by kattyIn the beginning this site was free. Russ and Chrismo paid the expenses of maintaining and upgrading. You mean we subscribe annually and they subscribe monthly?
umm maybe, but i want someone who is sure, you maybe right though!
It finally reached the point where the expense was unreasonable for them and the members were asked for contributions to help keep the site up. I don't remember that there was any fixed amount, and I don't think we referred to it as a subscription at that time, but some members did make substantial contributions.
Those who made contributions were given a pawn star icon by their name and a free copy of the "Rival" chess program. Other than that, I don't believe there was any distinction between members who made a contribution and those who didn't. It was still a free membership site.
Membership continued to grow, and it finally came to the point where the subscription system became the only way to reasonably keep the site operational. I believe that this was when game limits for non-subscribers were implemented as well. At that time the "original pawn stars" were given a lifetime membership in appreciation for their earlier voluntary support.
Many of the "original pawn stars" do pay the annual subscription fee even though it isn't necessary.
I think this information is more or less correct, and hope it helps clear up the confusion.

...back in the day...pawn stars could start unlimited games, while non-subscribers could only start 10 but could be challenged by a PS even if they had 10 on the go. this led to the no.3 MAP being a non-subscriber...
then the servers got overloaded and non-subscribers were limited to only 10 games in total, then only 6.
then "winged" pawn stars were introduced as a form of annual subscriptions, and many "original" pawn stars joined the ranks of the winged. according to legend, the last OPS was a certain "jacko" (then jacko007). i think towards the end of the OPS era there was a set contribution, but i'm not completly sure.
also, if i remember correctly, someone once made the contibution of, erm, a whole new server...
and $29.99 is dirt cheap-just take a look at GK!
