Then I have to pay their fees... Since I graduated I am no longer enrolled in university and cannot take this piddly 3 hour a day job.
In a way I kind of agree with Mr. Hectate. I mean no disrespect, but there is no such thing as being over qualified. You might have to face the fact that you will be working in a less than ideal situation. I have found that the best time to look for a job, is when you already have a job. Potential employers can smell desperation a mile away. Get a job, any job, and start there. Good luck friend!

Originally posted by duecerYou're right about having a job being good for getting another. It's MUCH easier to find a second job now that I have one part time job. I've had two offers in the last couple weeks. The first I'm overqualified for. Hopefully this other one works out.

Originally posted by AThousandYoungWe're all expendable in todays working environment. However, if I lost my job today, I'd find something else to do. It doesn't take long to get a temp job doing anythig to get you by for awhile. I loathe not having a job and can't stand just puttering around smoking a bowl. I just don't get how people can avoid doing anything even remotely productive.
Well, I'm negotiating my second part time job. Hope that counts as getting a grip on my life.
One person is not a threat to WF, but I won't be the only one. As was pointed out, WF has been giving money out to people in the UK via small claims. You think they want that trend to migrate to the US too?
I take marijuana for illness, so stfu. Did you miss the part about going without btw?
Originally posted by duecerGreat, that's just what we need is more drug users for teachers. Positive role models that really teach our children the meaning of work ethic. Sticking to pumping gas might be the best way to go.

Originally posted by AThousandYoungIt's fine that you smoke pot or whatever. What you do in your spare time is no business of mine (or anyone else's), unless you're a neurosurgeon or an air-traffic controller or something like that. On the other hand, unless you're in a rock band or something, drugs have no place in a productive office environment. I hate corporate sheep more than just about anyone I know, but there's a pretty clear line between permissive and stupid.
Drug use has nothing to do with work ethic.
Back to the original statement...
What you do in your spare time is your business, and nobody else's as long as you're not harming anyone but yourself. Smoke crack, have gay unprotected sex, worship Satan...whatever. The problem I have is when people make something like pot smoking a central part of their identity. Plenty of people on this site smoke, but they do it quietly, on their own time. They think it's enjoyable, but it's not their identity. They don't brag about it any more than you would brag about using salad dressing.
When you get to the point where you think the amount of pot you smoke, beer you drink...etc. is a sign of how cool you are, or some kind of badge of honor, you've completely lost the point. I have a friend who used to chew Skoal. He said one time this guy walked up to him, patted him on the back and said, "Skoal Brother!". My friend's reaction was, "What a friggin' loser!".
Find something else that makes you cool. Find other things to look up to in others. That whole, "he smokes pot, yeah, he's cool" thing is pretty dumb.
