I tend to agree, this is not the place it was a while ago, when it was a genuine pleasure to read many of the threads posted here. I used to look forward to it as much as my waiting games.
I think it is important to remember that the forums are just part of RHP, they were designed to build a sense of community to get people to come to the site more ...[text shortened]... white, there are different interpretations out there of whats going on in the world.

[b]I have noticed that we are all spending alot of time fighting in the forums. I have stayed away of late in silent protest. People used to have a battle of wits, wich is always fun for all. Now people are violent and abusive. There is name calling and accusations.

RHP's forums and community have had better times and worse times. Remember the player-organised Europe vs ROW tournament, which seems to have inspired the official tournaments we have now, or the friendly banter (including websites) that surrounded the MAP war when vaksno was King? Remember when Schliemann and sintubin got into a terrible argument about cheating, or the trouble with Baron von Munchausen? I think with the creation of the 'Debates' forum, the fighting has subsided in the other forums, and it was only ever a few people getting aggressive anyway. The forums might be a bit dull at the moment, but they have been MUCH more acrimonious at times in the past.

I also have to say that I think the problems we are having now are different than in the past. In the past, certain people always had an attitude and argued about everything and were never nice at all. Now, everyone here gets along for the most part, just when there is a certain thing that someone doesn't agree with does the name calling start. Take SVW for instance, he can get pretty mean and offensive, but the next day or in a different discussion can be nice as a peach (however nice a peach isπ). Or take um, Ivanhoe- he is a very nice person 99% of the time, just gets offensive about certain things that he feels strongly and very emotional about. I may be wrong, but that's the feeling I have at the moment. And I don't mean to bring people's names into it, I don't mean to offend you but I needed examples to explain where I'm coming from. π
