I got the same feeling with regards to Amsterdam/Rotterdam. Had been to Amsterdam before but that was my first time in Rotterdam, didn't like it tbh with you.
There was only three coffe shops in town when I was there in '93. I got a very cold vibe from busking in the streets there ...

I would gladly give you all the unwarranted thumb downs I've got lately.

P-

Edit! I take that back, I wouldn't wish a thumbs down on my worst enemy... plus the damage is already done. You can't take back a thumbs down... remember that next time you deliver one to an RHP member.

I have given this post a thumbs UP, tomorrow i change it to a thumbs DOWN, the next it will revert back to a thumbs UP... i will keep doing this until i either forget about it, get bored with it, i can't access a computer for a day or because i simply decide it actually deserves a thumbs up or down.

Where will it end up? Place your bets NOW!~

You don't get to travel 15 out of the past 42 months by going 5 star.

You don't get to see old men juan king by going five star either, apparently 😛

You can't put a price on real life. I've eyed up hostels myself and I'm not sure I could bring myself to stay in one. Only way to do it would be travel really light and carry all of your personal possessions at all times. The ones I saw advertised still seemed really expensive. Some were like £30/night (Barcelona). I mean that's like bed and breakfast and a room to yourself, in my book.

I can't see myself doing it when i'm older... late teens, twenties or maybe early 30s when most other people staying at the place is around that age fine but 40s or 50s, no thanks. I did meet a really cool old dude (late 60s) in a hostel who was cycling around India though, there's always exceptions.

London you can get a bed in a hostel for about £7 but Europe is stupidly expensive for hostels, i think i paid €15 in Amsterdam last time, which wasn't bad but the hostel in Rotterdam i think was €22 a night.

I got a double en-suite room with my gf at a coastal town here in N.I in July for £35 in a nice little place... you can't compare prices here with central Europe.

Yes, any older and people might start writing poetry about you too. They might already have done so. 😀
I suppose you're as old as you feel and age is just a frame of mind. I'm not sure if I feel any differently to what I did twenty years ago. Hard to quantify isn't it?

HA! Maybe... i'd love to read it 🙂 Or maybe not lol

I don't mind the old dudes in hostels tbh, i just loathe snorers of any age. If you snore you really shouldn't be staying in a room with other people, it's so selfish. I remember a guy in Argentina (old dude again), woke up the entire room, and it was a big fecken room, 10 - 12 people i can't remember. The next day i went to complain with a girl who ended up sleeping in the common room it was that bad, they of course didn't give a $hit. Tired to wake the guy up of course but it was impossible.

It might be a frame of mind but you'll aways be the old dude in a room full of late teens or 20 somethings. Why care i guess?

Maybe no one has ever told them they snore. Mabe they don't know. Or maybe they have been told that they snore but don't realise the full horror of it. Or maybe as you say, they just don't give a flipping flip.

I have been told that I do and say some really weird stuff in my sleep, so I'm not sure if a hostel would even suit me tbh (or if I'd suit a hostel, should I say). I have found myself feeling my way round the walls in my flat on a few occasions, waking up and wondering where the f I am. I also recall jumping out of bed and screaming 'b*****ds', in the middle of the night for no reason. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Fancy sharing a room with me? 😛

PS

I find pinching peoples noses shut can change their snoring rhythm.

If i have to share a room with you it might be the last nights sleep one of us gets 😲

If you snore that loudly you have to know... i mean even if no one has ever told you, which i seriously doubt surely you've woken yourself up at some point. Must have.

Maybe, but if you woke yourself up snoring (if that is possible) would you know what woke you up? I doubt it. Most people who snore deny it. It's something that happens in deep sleep mainly. I mean I can get out of bed and walk into my front room without being aware of it, so someone doing a foghorn on their back isn't likely to be aware of it are they? It's all about different levels of consciousness isn't it? If anything did wake a snorer up, it would probably be constricted breathing rather than the noise it makes, yeah?
