It helps them not in the slightest, even if I would decide to use the contents of such mails (no, seriously - its legal value is absolute zero in almost every country), but it clutters up my mailbox.
In my arrogant opinion, anyone who actually uses such a disclaimer is a useless gimp of a lawyer, and deserves to be hung out to dry as painfully as possible.
