It was in the introduction to a study that suggested only one third of a random sample of adults had reached the stage of understanding the difference. A forget the proportion who were overly concerned about ambulances committing parking violations in life or death situations, but it was more than you might imagine. There were also of course the people who justified breaking social rules when the timing was inappropriate, suggesting they were somehow acting for the greater good.
