'The Hill' Stands alone as a study of the denial of freedom. Essential viewing.

I thought the Maltese Falcon was better. Love that film. Seen it over 20 times and I still enjoy watching it.

New Zealand band "Front Lawn" later renamed "The Mutton Birds" had a minor hit in the 80's with a song titled "Claude Raines" its a great tribute to the actors role in Casablanca the diminutive inspector who did what he could to help Rick without flaunting his office.. Fans of the movie should seek the song.

There ya go... a bit more blurb you found on RHP

The Hill... Sean Connery's Best. Makes ya wanna drink beer almost as much the movie "Ice Cold in Alex".

"A Clockwork Orange". That is a true story (although it can't be compared to the book.), better than Casablanca.

I have. I thought it was a gret at film. Gritty, gripping and visually stunning.

However,

Casablanca was better. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It takes place during the Nazi occupation of France in the city of Casablanca, Morroco and is centred around a tough-as-nails, self-serving main character named Rick who must help an old love who broke his heart and her husband escape from being captured by the Nazis.

You can check out www.imdb.com for more details. You should watch it. It may not be the "best" film ever but it is truly a great film worthy of the praise it receives.

What makes a good movie great?
I'll start
1. A dialogue and story which allow the actors to show us their craftsmanship.
2. Actors who can do justice to the dialogue.
