It would never happen with me for sure, as you know I am loyal to Metallica. I turned you down on several occasions to join your clan. Please don't put me in your hyothetical situations. Thanks in advance.

Ma'am is a lovely word. Some languages address women for their possible age or maturity. Swedish makes - or made - a distinction between being married or still unmarried: 'fru', if the woman is married or has been - 'fröken' if she hasn't married.
So I would still be 'fröken' if these words were still in use. Instead we address people by their first name, or both first and sir name.

Ma'am is a short form of Madam or Madame, the polite form of address for a woman.

Madam is also (slang) A woman who runs a brothel, particularly one that specializes in finding prostitutes for rich and important clients. After she grew too old to work as a prostitute, she became a madam.
