… or rather, when you offer a draw you are likely to lose the game if you continue. Is that right?
Most who offer a draw do so thinking they will not win.

Because of the presumed psychological boost it may give, I don't offer a draw unless I think neither player's chances are good. I consider it important that my opponent have a reason for accepting.

I have been known to turn down offers of a draw because I like to see it play out and make sure I know why it's a draw. All good learning. 😁

That's smart play. If an opponent offers a draw I'm immediately suspicious they favour my position.

It's probably more that I am not smart enough to know if it should be a draw!

That seems a good point, but is it? What are you up to? What's the thinking behind this point??

🀷‍♂️I offer a draw, my opponent declines, I now prove that is the case? Or was it because it looks like it & need to 'ship' some games? Indeed it maybe that a Tournament has been won, so save the grade?

Just thoughts🚬

I try to give a reasoning normally if I offer a draw. Sometimes I am wrong. But sometimes the guy I offered the draw to makes a mistake and I win πŸ˜€

πŸ™‚ I love it when an opponent declines a draw and then goes on to lose.

Yes, that is hilarious.

I like to play it out unless it appears to me playing it out is just a waste of time and settle on the draw.

@Very-Rusty
I prefer to play it out as they may become comatose and I get the win on time.
