Just joking. But honestly, I don't listen to that much acoustic (or folk or whatever) unless it bends my ear. Animal Collective's Sung Tongs album is a good example of that.

The only stuff I could suggest as far as acoustical stuff, which I'm not sure is that "good" persay, but I like it.

The New Amsterdams
The Honorary Title

But mainly what I listen to is hip hop, hardcore punk, punk, metal, noise, and grind

Out here in Arizona, none of those bands are played. Are they all rock? I'm not asking about any of the "mixing" bands.

radio out here in the desert is useless.

Now don't be making fun of this old fool, darv. Yeah those bands that rbmorris and others are always talking about. They take old songs and change them by changing the time structure and other aspects electronically.

I would never make fun of you, badmoon. I got too much love for ya. Honestly though, I can't imagine anything I've listed being like that. What I've listed above includes some heavy metal, noise, rock, experimental, folk and even some "jazz".

Mike Campbell (lead guitar) and Steve Ferrone (drums) from TP and the Heartbreakers.

Ferrone has a pretty interesting history behind him.

Someone mentioned Jimi Hendrix. I don't get it. I just think he was way over rated. Even for his time period. At his best he probably could not hold up to your average rock guitarist of today.

Right now, music is being made that is incredibly original and challenging. The majority of people just never hear it because they don't seek it out.

Bands like Deerhoof, Animal Collective, Ex-Models, Lightning Bolt, Wolf Eyes, and so many more rival the likes of The Fall and The Residents for sheer originality.
Ok, I tried to check them out and hear some samples.

Deerhoof - Original and might grow on me. I'll listen to some more sometime.
Animal Collective - Original but not what I'd call rock.
Ex-Models - Couldn't find anything.
Lightning Bolt - No, a club near me used to play lots of that kind of stuff.
Wolf Eyes - Original but again not what I'd call rock.

Respect! I can't believe someone actually went out and listened. I wasn't restricting myself to rock so I kinda branched out to include the noisier side of my tastes. Nowadays, rock is no longer just 'rock'. How can it be? It has evolved and expanded.

Yeah. Dennis Rouseau has evolved and expanded as well, doesn't make it worth while though.
