daniel, Have you not read in your bible, "Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins?!" or is that too inconvenient for you?
He's not "blood-thirsty", what that means is that Christ died on the cross for US, how does that make Him "blood-thirsty"? That was His enemies.

Your god has a history of killing, torturing, and threatening with endless torment.

Lol, just the US or the rest of the world as well? Lulz.

Perhaps your ire should be directed at the poster of this thread instead...?

mohammed: I don't get why christians think you're so great.

jesus: what don you mean? I died for their sins. that's totally awesome!

mohammed: but, as an omniscient being, you knew from the beginning of time exactly how everything would turn out.

and because you're omnipotent, we have to conclude it turned out [/i]exactly[/i] as you intended.

you create man, man sins, and - according to some rule you made up - requires a divine blood sacrifice to "save" him.

you made your bed, and now expect praise for lying in it!

jesus: but it's an awesome bed, and I'm lying in it awesomely.

Help me Jesus, help me clean my wounds
He said he can not heal that kind
Bleeding soul becomes a bitter mind
He said it happens every time

He is bloodthirsty because He required the sacrifice of live animals for the propitiation of sins, and He is bloodthirsty because mankind, in their abysmal arrogance, created Him in their own likeness and then had the unmitigated gall to pretend that it happened the other way around. Don't bother quoting scripture to me, I have heard, and read it all before, so you cannot impress me with your knowledge of the bible, and you sure as hell cannot impress me with your God.
