He did know exactly what the guy was doing that whole time, when he was regressed. And the further regressed he got the more human he became.
And why would a superior being react the way he did when the water sprayer went off. That was a totally human reaction.
And there was the thaught that he was a gifted person who was one of those people who was able to solve problems by looking at them.
And he could've just found a way out of the mental institution, and then showed the girl how to get out.

Really? And you have an innate understanding in regards to both the nature and fabric of space, and what may lie beyond the edge of the known universe? You're employing an awful lot of assumption here.

And I studied astrophysics and astronomy for four (I was going for a double in CS and AP). That doesn't mean I have the first clue as to how it *really* works, just what ever-changing current theory tells me. Before knocking other peoples' beliefs, try to understand just how ignorant and insignificant you are in the whole scheme of things.
