So...it comes down to this. I'm coming. I'll be in London Friday night through Sunday morning, the 17th to the 19th. I'm going to do be at the Arsenal - West Brom match, and after or before that, well, hell, I'm not going to know anybody, so...pints? Conversation? Football? Chess? In that order?

Leaving on Thursday and will have limited access to email, so a quick turnaround, if you're agreeable, would be excellent.

you know there's a lot of things you yanks do that i like, baseball... the spelling of things like 'color' and 'favor' etc... soccer but there's one thing that's truely annoying, it should be day-month-year when writing dates, it just makes more sense.

Does that apply even in the written form?

Would September 17, 2010 be 17 September, 2010?

Unless you are storing files with dates in the name. If the format it mm/dd Then they are arranged chronologically if arranged by name. IN this case it would make most sense to use the format yyyy/mm/dd.

That's what they do in Japan (and what I do when naming files).

Ummm? He said he'd be in London, which is the capital of England, which is a part of the United Kingdom, and also Europe. It is not a place in America.

Nor is it in Ireland.

You're welcome.

Can't store a file with a / in MS OSes.

Apart from that I agree, I store all my photos as yyyymmdd - xy.jpg

An added benefit is that printing companies generally put the filename on the back, so 50 years from now, people who pick up one of my prints and look at the back can see the exact date it was taken.
