Any one read Terry Goodkind's books. They're awesome. Right up there with LOTR. So's Feist's Rift War Saga.

I agree, that was a brilliant part of LOTR. The Battle for Minas Tirith wasn't as good as that one.
I did enjoy Return of the King. However, I missed "The scouring of the shire."
That would have been far more preferable than the rest of the endings which they did include.

Yes they are good, but the similarities between Shannara and LotR are remarkeable: starting with the flight in the night before scary creatures; and there's a lot more.

Anyway, I found the "Word & Void" series even better.

the ending was the biggest pile of crap i have ever seen....no offence to mr Jackson but missing out Sauramon and the scorning of the shire was a big mistake!

That should make the extended version though, but then you have to pay another £40 to see that 😠😠

I don't particularly like Lord of the Rings. Everyone says it's such a great movie blah blah blah, but the idea that a ring can give ultimate power and all this other fantasy stuff doesn't interest me. I don't like fantasy movies.

I watched the first one, which was insanely long and boring, and concluded that the other two will only be about getting the ring back and the moral of the story is "evil is bad, mmmkay".

Speaking of the LotR movies,I'd like to know what was everyone's favorite/least favorite creatures in the films. My favorite was the Watcher in the Water(FotR),with the mumakil(giant elephants)second. The worst were the Wargs-they looked like hyenas on steroids!

Most of my relatives and friends would disagree with you, but unlike them i completely agree with you. The return to the shire and the incident with sauramon should have been included.😠😠😠
