I didn't think mayo sounded right for cocktail, but figured a small ammount wouldn't hurt... plus most people probably have a mix of mayo and horseradish rather than the pure stuff.
I won't eat condiments at my mother in laws because they BBQ a LOT and leave the mayo, catsup and relish outside in the sun ALL DAY. Plus, they always have the huge bottles that last all summer... so it's double trouble.

That's horrible. Have they ever gotten sick from doing that? My brother leaves the ketchup out ALL THE TIME. I got to the point were I just won't eat ketchup when I visit my mom's.

I thought most condiments can't go bad on the shelf unless they were there a LONG TIME. I always refrigerate, but will keep it in the cupboard/pantry if it is not open yet.
As for mustard, I eat that stuff like... well, like mustard! I am on my second bottle in about 4 weeks, and it's almost gone.
