I'd certainly hope you weren't referring to my statements. They were well thought out clinical discoveries boiled down into Laymans ergo reason for my statements were to answer his question which was something to the effect of how does he beat the fog of playing chess since he's taking medication and if there was anyone offering mentoring. big mouth. take ...[text shortened]... ting I bet you failed a general english aptitude test somewhere along your path of education.
Firstly, whilst your advice seems sane and reasonable, how does he know that? How does he know that a) you're really a clinical researcher and b) what you're telling him is in fact true? You could be anyone telling him anything and when you have a mental illness you're more likely to be malleable by the views and opinions of others. Seeking the advice of a professional negates the potential of being led astray by people who aren't qualified. I wouldn't take anyone's advice here on a medical condition, no matter whom they claimed to be.
Secondly, he wasn't asking for advice on how to deal with his illness, he was asking if anyone know how any professional chess players dealt with their meds when competing. Perhaps it's you that failed your aptitude test, and whilst you're retaking, why don't you take course in how not to over-react on an internet forum.

I would never offer medical advice over the internet and you're right, there's a huge legal liability factor. None was offered that was out of the realm of common knowledge if you reread my statements other than to continue taking what his doctor recommended. Soooooo not sure about the overreacting you're talking about I'm just pointing out that you missed the point all together and you are far from picking up what I'm dropping here.
