I include your posts in there as well for two reasons.

Firstly, whilst your advice seems sane and reasonable, how does he know that? How does he know that a) you're really a clinical researcher and b) what you're telling him is in fact true? You could be anyone telling him anything and when you have a mental illness you're more likely to be malleable by the views and opinions of others. Seeking the advice of a professional negates the potential of being led astray by people who aren't qualified. I wouldn't take anyone's advice here on a medical condition, no matter whom they claimed to be.

Secondly, he wasn't asking for advice on how to deal with his illness, he was asking if anyone know how any professional chess players dealt with their meds when competing. Perhaps it's you that failed your aptitude test, and whilst you're retaking, why don't you take course in how not to over-react on an internet forum.

Most people would go to NET MD for medical issues, simply I was offering insight to gain trust in my suggestion to work through the mental block he's having and god forbid there be anyone that actually knows what they are talking about around here. I would never offer medical advice over the internet and you're right, there's a huge legal liability factor. None was offered that was out of the realm of common knowledge if you reread my statements other than to continue taking what his doctor recommended. Soooooo not sure about the overreacting you're talking about I'm just pointing out that you missed the point all together and you are far from picking up what I'm dropping here.

I think some people try to play life as chess. Sometimes it doesnt work out quite right where they have that need to control life around them like chess pieces. This leads to mental illness, suicides, murders etc when they fall down.....................

Your overreaction is the suggestion that I need to improve my literacy, rather than just a simple reply on topic. My opinion was based solely on ensuring that the guy wasn't getting mislead.
