The jury may well have been influenced by Jacksons music as children, when they respected him; now to see him in a position like he was in would provide a small amount of sympathy, brought back by that former respect.

There is something about people in power in the music business - look at Jonathan King, he still denies he did anything wrong.
The judge, however, was impartial to both sides, and was going to throw Jackson in gaol just for being late. This, in my book, would prove that he was quite impartial to either side, and therefore, ran a fair trial. Blame the jury for the verdict, not the judge.
