I have to say I disagree. I think the sheer outrageousness and dubious taste of the pagent highlights the issue of landmines extremely well, mainly through the shocking antithesis involved.VE
I can kind see the point of this AND see why some people find it funny
Pageants are a joke and only americans take vacant headed pretty girls who want world peace seriously even if they have a degree in astro physics so I can kinda see the whole lets flip this on the head idea
and..
I can understand why someone thought Miss landmine might be a good idea that shocks peole into realising what beauty pageants are all about while questioning the whole aspect of blowing limbs off people, but seriously surely there are beter ways to do this. Calling it Little Miss Blown Apart might hit it home a little bit more than Miss Landmine and maybe educating people without the need for a beauty pageant might be better all together???
As for commenting onthe attractiveness of the contestants??? Well need I say more other than have a little heart even in sarcasm.....

This is just heartbreaking.
I've read through the profiles of these women, some with four children, their dream-job simply that of HAVING a job...
The prize for this competition a limb which will improve the quality of one their lives. One limb, and all of those women are deserving.
:'(
More should be done to get rid of these life destorying mines, these stupid wars over land fertalized with the blood of women and children.
