Unrepresentative of Pink Floyd? Why do you say that? Is there any one song by them that is completely representative of them as a band?
Nevertheless, if you play it for even though most casual listener, they will almost certainly recognize it as Pink Floyd. Familiarity with the song, not recognition of the style, permits listeners to recognize "Money" as the work of Pink Floyd. If we could only find someone familiar with Pink Floyd, but unfamiliar with "Money," we could test this.

"If you can't write FXXXd, do not replace it with something that will get into the forums. I hope I don't find this in forums in the future, you could lose your posting privileges or even your membership here at RHP.

I'm tempted to agree with you because I love Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Saucerful of Secrets and Ummagumma and I don't like the bulk of PF's work after Meddle. I know I'm the minority but I don't think Pink Floyd at the time of Saucerful of Secrets had a lot to do with the PF of The Wall (not to mention Division Bell).
Edit: My point being that there's no point in discussing if a song is representative of their work as their work has changed dramatically over the years.
Originally posted by PalynkaMaybe I'll test it. Perhaps I'll start by making a CD with a number of obscure songs, and have listeners play guess the artist/band. Garth Brooks' "Ireland" will fool some that think they know Country, and Frank Zappa's "G-Spot Tornado," although arguably very much in his style, will fool others.
