Here are the answers I was looking for. You pretty much got it right:

The movie was Breakfast Club. The opening song was "Don't you forget about me" by Simple Minds. The section of the song shown on the screen was from the song "Changes" by David Bowie. There was also graffitti on the wall that read, "I don't like Mondays" which was a song by the Boomtown Rats.
