Short thread I know but maybe you can say why as well as which ones...?

For me I love the Back to the Furture trilogy.
Great fun, wholesome, intriguing, family oriented, great characters, directing and time travel intricate overlapping storylines.

You?

The trouble with trilogies is that the first is so much better than the
subsequent, exceptions being Star Wars (which were all bad) and
Lord of the Rings (which were all good).

Honourable mention to BTTF, Bourne and Terminator.

No female characters speak to each other in any of the Lord of the Rings films. This is surely a fatal flaw in any trilogy.

I thought The Godfather III fully lived up to the standard set by its 1972 and 1974 predecessors.

Though the quality of part 1 wasn't matched in two or three.

Can i get away with Shaun of the Dead? (Followed by Hot Fuzz and World's End). There's at least one running gag that unites them as a trilogy. (Fence jumping).

All 3 are very funny, Simon Pegg excellent in everything he does.

I watched Hot Fuzz again the other night as it happened to be on. Brilliant fun!
