if its heavy metal u want stick to hatebreed they're the best, korn is strongly reccomended, love those guys too(their guitar player is hot as hell!!!!)try machine head, they're hard to get into but if its screamin u want they'll quinch your thirst. Personally, i used to think it had to be hardcore or nothing at all, but i started listenin to some other stuff and now i like 3 doors down, story of the year, lost prophets, and smile empty soul. I consider them moderate cus they still scream just not too excessively, and i really like that. You should really check them out. You may be impressed...

Which disturbed do you like better? The Sickness or Believe? The Sickness is my pick because it's harder, but Believe is growing on me. I loaned it to a friend a couple weeks back and am itching to get it back.

and can i take this moment to say that if you (CentreNut) want to learn to play good guitar, please listen to dream theatre. i was watching part of a live DVD of them yesterday, and the guitar was awsome. a solo based around 7 sweeps and...dang that guy is goooooooooood! i can't find the words in my vocabulary to describe them...although they're not heavy metal, per se...
