Yaphet Kotto, 81. Memorable as the villain in Live & Let Die.
@hells-caretaker saidYes, he was in Alien. There is a report he was offered the part of Captn. Picard for the Star Trek regeneration but turned it down.

@fmf saidSad news.
I see Herbie Hancock announcing on Twitter the death of Paul Jackson, his Headhunters era bass player.
From his own website (http://www.pauljacksonbass.com):
"It is with extreme sadness that we announce Paul Jackson’s passing today, March 18th 2021. World renowned bassist, founding member of Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters and a deep influence to so many bassists, he loved playing bass since he began playing standup at the age of nine. With countless recording credits to his name his music and his joyous spirit is still loved by so many people world wide. As he would say, he could not only groove he could groove all night! We will all miss you – your music lives forever."

@handyandy saidIn Egypt. Not an easy place to champion respect and equality for women. Courageous she was.
The BBC described her as a "feminist firebrand who dared to write dangerously."

@earl-of-trumps said10 January 2016...I haven’t gone back to peruse posted, but I would be surprised if the death of the great musical artist wasn’t noted here.
The British musician David Bowie died on Sunday after an 18-month battle with cancer, two days after his 69th birthday
