Ok Guys and Gals

Hello! I'm from Sweden. My current rating is 1507. I would like to join
this tourney.

I'm interested to join the world team. I'm from Belgium, currently
(overrated probably) at 1414. Julia, the Lioness.

I think Gil would make a good team captain for your team Julia...I
posted this earlier...and it seems a few people like that idea. Any clue
whether he wants that duty?

Dave, are you really being serious? I have to obey him all the time.
Now you want me to obey him during playing chess also?..... Only
joking 🙂 I think he will accept it if the formula of the tournament fits
his schedule of work. You know he commutes between Antwerp and
Paris and when he is in Paris in the hotel, he will not be able to make
moves during the evening and it even isn't sure he will be able to
make moves every day. But you are right. He is a natural born
leader 🙂

I was hoping to make this a three day T.O. tourney so that it would
not last forever. But if sin is to be team captain I think it should be
fair and and at least a 7 day T.O.

Unless anyone objects to that.

And btw...the word "obey" was not in mine and Beck's vows...we did
not that want that in there...well she did..but only if I said it...not her.

hehehe

Will make a new post listing the entries so far...and so we can see
where we are at.

Let me say a few things here:

Yes I would love to participate.

I don't want that the whole tourney gets adjusted to my schedule. I
am not the only one that may have problems like that. It could be
agreed on beforehand that TO's are only claimed after the approval of
the captain(s?). By making all games unrated there would not be
indivdual pressure.

As far as the role of captain is concerned, I might take it, but I would
be glad to play in anyones team as well. For instance, it was
Donadoni's idea. Wouldn't he be interested?

I think julia confused between herself and me when talking about
obeying 🙂)

We definitely need more players from outside US!

I think you are right on a ruling between captains on a T.O.....and if
Donadoni wants it and you all will back him..well there ya go!

More players are needed on your side to keep it at a rating level
deal...but I think it would be better if we just had chair system.

PS...I said a cutoff date for entrants will be Monday...that gives
everybody the whole weekend...although..over here a holiday
weekend...to sign up...is this ok with you?

Yes, Sid. You have one obstacle to the title. The ROW Team has to
win. You know Dave and the US Team wont let you do that.
