@divegeester saidHow can anyone tell for sure? The uk imports raw materials for all sorts of things and if there’s a reduction in the drivers of UK haulage firms entering the EU due to not having the necessary paperwork there will be a reduction in them returning with other goods?
Is it, how so? The issue seems to be a local manufacturing one.
PS - Is there a “Brexit problems” thread?
Or is it just because we are now making more PPE?
No Brexit Problems thread as yet π

@drewnogal saidCould be an import issue I suppose, but my builder said that his supplier told him it was the local plaster manufacturers closing their plants due to lockdown. Either way it’s going to cause massive issues in the construction industry which the government wants to keep going, for obvious reasons.

@drewnogal saidThat's the problem with the tests, the PCR one takes a couple of days and if your flight is on a Monday and they're not working on the weekend it's a very small window. It's not even clear when to get the test, I read on the Irish government website that it should be taken within 72 hours of travel but I believe for the UK it's the result has to come back 72 hours before travel.
At Christmas my niece was travelling home to Spain from her uni in Wales. She arranged the Covid test 3 days before but the results still weren’t through by the time she was due to board her flight. She had to book a hotel overnight. The negative result came through the next day and she managed to book a flight to a city 4 hours from her required destination., an expensive trip!
Or just get a fake certificate, met a guy in Mexico who did exactly that when he realized the test wouldn't be back on time.
@divegeester saidWhen was the last time you got so many thumbs up? Glad i could help π
I think all governments are trying their utmost to deal with this extraordinary situation.
But going to Colombia during a global pandemic was a choice, something within your control and yes, you will now have to face the consequences of that choice.
@trev33 saidIt was on the radio this morning that people were making dental appointments with dentists in Benidorm. They would show an appointment confirmation letter at the airport.
Many people.
Jesus, the lengths people will go to for some sunshine.

@very-rusty saidNo one said you're a mental titan, that's for sure.

@instantkarma777 saidGood for them, people need a bit of sunshine. What a depressing time we're in, you have to keep your self sane and if that's a trip to Spain then great if you can do it.

@instantkarma777 saidThey love each other so much. But it's tiresome going into every thread and seeing the same some pikkering, they should just embrace the love and go on a date.
Why are you 2 always arguing?
