Exactly when did living within your means become out of style? I blame the banks and the mortgage companies in part, but especially I blame the people themselves. Inlarge part I blame liberals and and Congress for expounding the idea that everyone should be able to own their own home and then establishing FannieMae and FreddieMac to pay for it.
Yes, everyone should be able to buy their own home, but the Constitution of the United States doesn't say the government (aka the American Taxpayers who pay their mortgages and pay their credit card bills ) should pay for it. Buy a home you can afford and as your income increases then buy up.

I don't think lending establishments are giving loans to people, who they don't think can afford them? ( I know that is the case here in Nova Scotia, Canada)
You would have to know about every individual case, to even come close to making those statements?
I will give you the credit card thing, most people do not use those the way they should, from what I have seen. Then the credit card company will actually up the amount once they have maxed out the card. So long as those monthly payments are made.
