"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell.

How many people can use a famous quote and say it's "personal"?
Like I said, it can be personal to them because of it's significance.

I find this to be very personal and of utmost significance. 😀

It's probably the wrong forum to ask in, but I can't help wondering if that would work equally the other way:

"The Supreme cannot bind the notions of men."
Given His commitment to honor man's autonomy, I say it's pretty close.

That's funny.

I remember when I first met your mom. I said pick up those quarters, get off the stage, and leave that poor donkey alone.
If it weren't so close to home, that would be funny.

A spin on a Machiavellian quote

"It is not the oath that gives me faith in the man, but the man that gives me faith in the oath."

Are we happier than people were six thousand years ago? If so how much happier than us are people going to be in six thousand years time?

Do we have any greater wisdom. . . It manifests itself in action. We are destroying the planet, know we are and do very little about it.

Are we talking the whole human race or at an individual level?

As for destroying the world. Who say we are doing that? And do you have proof.

I'm much happier than I was 6000 years ago. I was pretty cranky then -- not the little ray of sunshine I am now. And six thousand years from now I'll still be waiting for the Cubs to be in the World Series, so I doubt I'll be able to maintain my sunny disposition that long.
