Honesty is something you have or you don't have. It doesn't warrant asking for opinions, and the RHP General Forum is hardly the place for deep philosophical questions.

"...deep philosophical questions"... ?

Seems dishonest and deceptive people must lead exraordinarily empty and frustrated in their daily search for happiness, which unfortunately they'll never know.

If I tell my wife her jeans don't make her butt look big, does that make me a dishonest person... Or is that more a survival instinct kicking in?

That's a sweeping statement. It should have been preceded by "in my opinion" because that's all it is.

"If I tell my wife her jeans don't make her butt look big, does that make me a dishonest person... Or is that more a survival instinct kicking in?"
That's called a white lie, or diplomacy. If it's believed, you've made her happy; if it's not, at least she knows you didn't seize the opportunity to insult her.

You've already proven yourself dishonest.

If a person commits a single event of dishonesty, or even a series of events, that doesn't make the person a dishonest person. Hanging adjectives on to people is a bad idea. Everyone does good things and everyone does bad things, you need to look at the whole person to decide if they're someone you'd wish to use as a guiding example for your kids.

{you can tell I'm stuck on a level in Angry Birds, can't you?}

Slight correction...

That's a bit of conceit, isn't it? Are you implying that you're better-educated, more widely read, or otherwise "better" than other posters here?

Well, you should certainly know.

Richard

(Which, btw, also answers Kewpie's question.)

What I do know from first hand observation is that positive psychological factors (including positive relationships,

optimisn, life satisfaction and inner happiness) appear to greatly lessen the risk of ) serious medical ailments.

IF you think her butt looks big, it is a lie!

IF you're AFRAID to tell her, then lie! 😛

If she wears the Jeans, what do you wear? 😉 😛

Her shoes don't fit, if that's what you're wondering.
