Timebank Details
Each game has a timeout period, specified in days. If you do not move within this period you will start eating into your timebank period.
Like the timeout period, the timebank period is specified at the start of the game. Below is an example of the timebank in use:
Example:
A game is started with a 3 day timeout period, and a 14 day timebank.
White makes a move.
Black then takes 3.5 days to make a move. Black has used the timeout period, and 12 hours of Black's timebank period has also been used. Black now has only 13.5 days timebank left for the rest of the game.
White moves again within the 3 day timeout limit. White's timebank is unused.
Black then takes 7 days to make the next move. Another 4 days has been taken from Black's timebank, leaving Black with 9.5 days of timebank.
White moves again within the 3 day timeout limit. White's timebank is unused.
Black now takes 13 days to move! Black is lucky his opponent did not claim the win because black only had 12.5 days to make the move (3 day timeout plus 9.5 days remaining timebank)

Originally posted by adramforallno, not 'nuff said'. That doesn't explain (at all) how I can lose on move time out with 4.11 days remaining in the bank. I notified hte moderator, hopefully Russ will clarify.

Clive, you're asking in the wrong place. An opponent should not be able to claim victory if you have Timebank (TB) remaining which leads to 3 possible conclusions:
1) your timebank was erroded faster than it should have been
2) there is a bug in the system which allowed your opponent to claim victory despite there being TB remaining.
3) you miscalculated how much TB you had left (just a posibility - we are all human)
No one here can verify if you had timebank left or not, I don't think you can see that kind of detail for other peoples games. You'd be better to post in the "Help" forum, or send your question ot site feedback.
Cheers
Jon
I have a hazy memory of a bug where the time bank value is not updated when you loose during a period you have not logged in: i.e. the timebank setting you see for a completed game is the timebank the last time you saw it before the game is over.
Thus it is likely we have a miscalculation pre-vaccation plus a bug that obscures the data needed to recalculate.
By the way, there's no point in asking folks in the forums to check, as nobody but the two opposing players and admin can see the time bank status.
So contact admin to investigate if there is another bug and a genuine grievence with the system. Bugs are always possible. But clearly poor sportsmanship is a claim that cannot be laid at the door of the system.
Which means your comment of "poor sportsmanship" must clearly be one referencing your opponent. However, you have no valid grievence there: if they take an available T/O, that's the rules. So the only poor sportsmanship evident is the petulance of this thread.
