Putin will fail to replace the regime in Ukraine by a puppet regime of his own choosing and will require some sort of pseudo-victory to save face at home; this will play out at horrific cost to Ukraine’s civilians and civilian infrastructure.

I think that Putin will settle for a big chunk of Ukraine and Moldovia. But it will cost him into
having Russia heavily ostracized and will cost his country plenty. And the war will restart eventually
