Considering that many people tend to wait until the last minute (I am usually one of them, although this time I made an exception), I am not sure that's a good idea. If you suddenly close it because nobody seems to be voting anymore, be prepared for complaints from all the people who had planned to vote, but had kept postponing it because there didn't seem to be any urgency. It's probably a better idea to suggest a deadline, and if someone can't make it for some reason, you can still stretch it.

I've read all of the entries thrice and I'm still very indecisive. I have tried ranking them alphabetically, spellchecking them, reading them backwards, giving them to anonymous strangers in public toilets through holes in cubicle walls, nothing seems to help! I need at least another week before I can give you my incredibly impotent vote.
