If you took the time to notice, you would find that not everyone who smokes has a "sad life" and that it is possible to enjoy cannabis without it having a detrimental effect on your life. I would be willing to bet that most herion addicts are aware of the crap thier addiction has caused them and know full well that it is neither clever nor cool.
Personally, I understand that smoking pot will not make me clever (if anything it does the opposite) and that it would never make me cool (even liquid nitrogen would have problems there lol) ... but it does feel nice to be stoned. I do it because I enjoy the feeling, not to be either cool or clever.
