I was a kid. I had no idea what I was watching beyond their screwy sillyness. I just enjoyed the popcorn on the roof of my mom's 80's Valiant and their goofball moments. Pryor was a big star to kids at that time, I think, from the movie TOY.

I don't particularly see anything racist about Richard Prior and Gene Wilder's movie. What I do see edgy is that #1 is trying stir up a stink in order to try to punish, stalk, intimidate and bully someone for being offended on a different matter. So they will become to frightened to ever do it again. It won't work though. Everyone already knows he is an idiot.
