I put an invoice in for work that I had done on an old building built around 1665. The proprietors looked at my invoice and said, no that cannot be correct and added another £50 on top of my invoice figure stating that I had worked very hard all day and was entitled to more. I skipped away gleefully. It is not the first time that people have complained that my prices are too low!

When I was about 10 I found a wallet with a pay packet in it which included some loose change. I stole something like 20p and went and bought some sweets and then handed in the wallet and the contents to the police.
Later that day the man came to our house and thank me for what I'd done and couldn't believe how honest I'd been and how it had meant he would be able to buy food for his family etc. He left me a reward. I think it was a £5 note but I can't remember as I was consumed with guilt over stealing the 20p.
Taught me a big lesson about relative personal morality which I've not forgotten.
