Wonder what percentage of the time appearances online nickname to online nickname,
phone voice to phone voice and face to face are in fact reality. Hmm...

Random Thoughts Game (OP)

"This game's somewhat like brainstorming: someone at the conference table or in the room suggests an idea no matter how blue sky or off the wall. It triggers an association for someone else, then someone else, etc. Eventually challenges are met and problems solved. One format rule: Please relate or connect your post or quotation to the previous one. Have fun.

How does an online forum thread know when it's time for it to die?

It doesn't it is not a conscious entity...

When does a moderator know it is time to pull the plug?

Probably when the thread's author isn't "conscious" of the "entity..." referred to as Terms of Service.

Ponderable, would you know which public forum has been the most active since January 1, 2015?

Ponderable, may I ask what motivates you to breathe life into threads no longer on page one running the risk of becoming archived?

Yes you may 🙂

It depends. Some threads have still a future, some are still thought provocing, some just move something in me. Some threads die of neglect...a bitter fate.

Yes, Ponderable. "It depends. Some threads have still a future, some are still thought provocing, some just move something in me. Some threads die of neglect...a bitter fate." while some others are destined to instantly or gradually die...

They are always real. The question is which reality is the one actually in place. (See Seitse's threads.)

... and which "reality" would you prefer to "substitute" as your "own"?

Substitute - me for him
Substitute - my Coke for gin

How about we come up with some real problems that we can toss about ideas on?
Here we go - the Riemann Hypothesis (just to get us started...) 🙂

Interesting that the solutions come in pairs: reminds one of

x=[ -b+-sqrt (b sqrd - 4ac)]/2a
