When I was younger t.v. looked like so much fun and i felt I could learn some things from it. Now it's all about sex, and curse. Which isn't bad when those things are there to accomplish a real goal besides ratings.
So start your flashbacks and tell things from the past that were woth watching:
Some of mine:
Kung Fu
The A-Team
MacGyver.. I still remember the episode he banged his head and thought he was in camelot...

oh happy days...the magic roundabout, the clangers, Mr Ben, the guy who would walk into a clothes shop and change into some fancy dress costume, come out of the change room and into the world of whichever costume he had tried on and he would sort out the problems then change back into his suit when he was ready for the real world...when I got older it was the fall guy and and very excellent uk series called The edge of darkness with loads of different plot lines and a brilliant Bob Peck and Joe Don Baker, had me on the edge of my seat and open my eyes to the reality of what nuclear power can do..

As a kid Saturday morning TV…The Howdy Doody Show was tops. I also liked Rootie Kazootie. In those days cowboys like Roy Rogers (King of the Cowboys), Gene Autry (The Singing Cowboy) and the Lone Ranger were staples. Later TV was ruled by westerns (sort of like sitcoms nowadays): Gunsmoke, Have Gun-Will Travel, The Virginian, The Rifleman, Bonanza, Wagon Train (where Clint Eastwood got started) and a host of others. Later I liked Dallas and Columbo. I got a set of Columbo DVD’s for Christmas. When I watched them they were a disappointment…too simplistic and kind of corny.

Edit: I forgot an early scifi...Captain Video and his Video Rangers.

mascat brought back some oldies...recently the local station started showing old shows from the 50's, Bat Masterson and The Rifleman. In my memory, I equated the two as being similar, and I was shocked at the difference through the eyes of a 50 year old. The Rifleman's first few episodes were written and directed by Sam Peckinpah!!!, and the show retained an edgy, dangerous feel to it thereafter, whereas Bat Masterson is almost cartoonlike and corny.

And I always thought Eastwood started out in Rawhide...

Saturday mornings were for Joe 90 and Captain Scarlet.
Thunderbirds
Swap Shop...

Mork and Mindy
Soap; Benson
Dads Army
Porridge

Z Cars; Dixon of Dock Green
Hill Street Blues
Starsky and Hutch

Sunday afternoons it was always The World at War, followed by Black Beauty and Planet of the Apes...

You are correct. Eastwood did start out in Rawhide. Previous to that, he did one episode of "Maverick", and a few Death Valley Days, but he was never on Wagontrain, unless it's a lost episode, no mention is made of him ever being on the show, certainly not as a regular.
