We are all going someday. 😛

I am sure it will be a sad day for many the day I die.

Can you say the same? How many people do you employ?

Um, guys.

I know I don't sing well... I wouldn't have it any other way. It just stinks being criticized for something I often brag about by people with ZERO to offer.

No crap, I can't sing! I've no plan to quit my day job, I do this for kicks and because I can. You don't have to like it, you are welcome to hate it... just don't think I'm planning on going platinum and taking over the world through my music.

All I ask is IF you are to criticize me get some new material and make it fun or interesting... how many times can you say 'campfire singer'? Hot tin roof was good, mix in a broken chainsaw or scratching chalk board... just at least mix it up a bit rather than saying the same damn thing over and over. If I suck at singing, you REALLY suck at criticizing considering at least I'm bringing NEW SUCK to the table every time.

Recommended without the least hesitation. My gut comment yesterday, "Badwater, I embrace the principle but also wonder

if the same stricture applies to random 'rhp gf thread criticizers' who seldom contribute threads of their own." echoes yours.

I probably can say it as many times as you can produce stuff that sounds like that. 😛

Constructive criticizing is not really a bad thing. Hell I still said you could lead a campfire sing-a-long, which might be considered a compliment in some circles.

You have no problem in criticizing others. I don't know why you would be so surprised to get a little friendly poke back from time to time.
You had no problem with people being critical of GB's threads and telling him about it on a daily basis. I don't see why you should expect any different treatment.

Thanks for the warm welcome back!

Have A Great Day, and a better week ahead.

EDIT: My response will not get the rec's you get from your friends who don't want to tell you the truth.
At least from me you get HONESTY!

Dude, I don't mind criticism. All I ask is you mix it up.

Make a thread calling out the liars who pretend to enjoy my music... those who don't like it say so

HoH

Those who do like it say so

The Hawt Ladies

Those who know I suck but still enjoy it say so

Starm and others

No one is being dishonest with me about my music... You're just not paying attention.

I've noticed one thing about some of my listeners, they often tell me how much I'm improving... but I am not. So I tell them I've gotten no better, they are just getting a callus in their ears. Something like an acquired taste.

I've often told people to keep the volume low and use half your imagination. I know damn well I suck, but there is no friend group here pretending to enjoy my music because we're all friends.

YOUR ACTUALLY JEALOUS!

Critics are the worst sort of wannabes.

If being able to sing measured the value of a songwriter/performer, then we'd have no Bob Dylan.

So, You are saying you suck and your friends know it.

Thanks for clearing that up, in your long winded way. 😛

Why on earth would I be jealous of you? I have more in life. I don't pretend to do things I can not do. Or do badly! 😉

You have STAGE presence, Phil. What I like to call CHARISMA. So you don't sing like Julio Iglesias. You don't play guitar like, well, some guitar legend I can't think of right now. What you got is talent for pulling people into your world. It can be high-pitched singing and "I only practiced this song five times in the parking lot during my lunch hour" quality but your songs are crazy art and it's always great, always creative, always cool.

You are a star in the sky. A bright star.

IF you can sing and play ok, if you can't then don't.

How hard is that to figure out?

Are you in love. 😉

They claim that love is blind, will make you not see what others see. Perhaps it affects the hearing also, but hell you sure are entitled to your opinion, and loyalty lets call it. 😉
