Anyone who is going to pay 600k for a car has millions probably into the 100s of millions. He already has the nice house etc etc. And honestly, when you get to that much money... what else are you going to do with it?

Some people have more money than sense. 600K? He could have bought something really nice for 50k, a big-oh home for half a mil, and still have $50,000 left for something frivolous. What a doosh.

For those of you who don't know, I'm a valet at a Country Club. I've seen and driven some pretty nice cars - Ford GTs, Corvettes ('62-Present), plenty of Porsches, etc.. But today there was a car that topped all of those - at least in price, the Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren:

This car's just stupidly expens ...[text shortened]... impressing people to these guys, but seriously - $600,000? That's insane.

I was at a wedding reception one time that had lot of high ranking stockbrokers and one guy who had been some kind of advisor to President Clinton…real high rollers. After talking to them I can tell you they are not like us and do not regard money the same as we do. For those guys a million is pocket change. One guy asked me “what business are you in?”…none…I just have a job. Then he wanted to know what, to him anyway, was really important…what kind of stock options did they offer me…two options…take the job or quit. They’d probably spend $600,000 like I spent $3.50 for breakfast at McDonald’s this morning. They weren’t snobbish or anything but maybe that was because they thought I was rich too.
