The birds will be alright untill a cat or other animal finds them or they learn to fly. I see this sort of thing all the time. This year my dog caught a bird that could not fly and a young kitten. I saw mother cat with three kittens after we handeled that one kitten. I cannot say about the bird. My dog is a German Shepherd. He has never killed a thing so for. He does not bother cats, but he gives other dogs their walking papers.

it's possible to raise the bird until it can fly, i've done this a few times myself. one time, a magpie chick fell/was pushed from its nest, which was way too high up to consider putting it back. i made it a nest in a box which i was allowed to keep in the laundry (i was a teenager at the time). for weeks i fed it raw mince beef directly into its beak. and took it outside in the yard for supervised exercise. after a while it started flying around the laundry, so i took it outside and left it to its own devices (had to go to school or something), expecting it to fly off. came back later, to find its maiden flight outside had come to an end in the swimming pool.

On top of this light is a birds nest, and there are chicks inside of it.

I had the door opened earlier, and closed it about half hour ago to turn the AC on. Just a few minutes ago Kara sees a baby bird on the floor near the door inside the office!

I picked it up with a paper towel and put it ...[text shortened]... est.

So now what? Will the mother reject the baby??? Hope the little guy is ok.......

The door being open had little to do with it... or shutting the door. The bird was inside because it jumped out of the nest.

If you would like an update... here it is.

Next day I came to work and there were two dead chicks on the cement in front of the door... Covered in ants!

Perhaps the ants got in the nest along the wall, and infested the nest? Perhaps something else drove the chicks out that day and ants got them on the ground?

Either way... if any bird survived... it is the one I put in the brush.

Or perhaps they all died?

Heck of a thing... have not seen the parents in days.
