@mike69 saidYou seem very heartless. Things were different years ago there was no internet. In todays World the Internet has become very important. Your neighbors remember what you do for them, also what you don't!
If they had the balls to ask someone they don’t even know, you have the right to tell them I’m sorry I just don’t feel comfortable with that, and you’re sorry it’s nothing against them. They can try another neighbor, no need to buy them anything. It’s not the end of the world to go a couple days without internet or use their phones for their kids. When my kids were young we went years without tv, etc. they will live.

@moonbus saidThat's the plan.
If you decide to let them piggyback on your Wi-Fi connection for a few days, go ahead. I’d avoid online banking during such time, if I were you. Despite two/factor authentication, anyone who knows your account number has got half the rent right there. Change your password immediately they have their cable connection.
They just moved in and I know how hectic that can be and a lot of people need the internet for work or school etc etc.
@very-rusty saidWell done.
I had a new couple move next door, pretty much the same situation would take a few days to get the cable and they had a 2 year old who played games. She had one in the oven, and a person I know well vouched for them and said they were a nice couple who would be moving in next door, and had told me in advance they had a little girl 2 years old, and were a very nice young co ...[text shortened]... e a favor in the future as well. I wouldn't advise it a good thing to do for everyone though.

This couple seems nice so I'm taking a chance but I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt instead of saying no to them and we start on the wrong foot.
@very-rusty saidNot at all, it’s not a need but a want. They can go to the park, play games, watch movies on dvd so many things, it’s a couple days. What their asking of someone they don’t know is weird to me and I would never do that. Not to mention someone that would do this will more than likely keep on even after. Narcissistic to a point putting their needs over someone they don’t even know.

@beowulf saidYou may become good friends with them.
Well done.

I know I am good friends already with my next door neighbors who have been there now for a few years. I never know when I may need a good deed some day. I think it is important to make friends with you neighbors.

@very-rusty saidOr you may not and really regret it. People aren’t always what they seem. You don’t have to be rude about it like I said. If they can’t understand then their not worth knowing.
You may become good friends with them.

@beowulf saidThe work visas are irrelevant.
New neighbors downstairs who have foreign work visas and they asked to use my WiFi for a few days because the cable guy takes time...
Bad idea?
Never, ever, ever do this.
You'll get stung a lot worse by an "honest" American downloading I don't know what kind of degenerate porn and connecting to all sorts of 4chan terrorist portals than you could possibly be by an innocent Polack trying to phone home, but even in the latter case I would never gamble it. One misstep, even unintentional, and it's you who will be getting it.
@the-gravedigger saidWell... depends on whether you knew them already. My neighbours, or my friends - I do them a favour, they'll do me a favour. And we don't keep count. Some random wanting to mooch off my WiFi without me knowing the least thing about her? Yah, no.
If you do a favour for someone they will never forget you next time they need a favour.
@the-gravedigger saidOr that you once did them a favor. What is wrong with helping a neighbor in need?

They have never asked me for a thing. I believe you look at it wrong t-g.

@the-gravedigger saidVery true and well said but I am not someone who has a problem with saying No or standing my ground.

How I am on these forums is exactly how I am in real life even though most people won't believe that.

@shallow-blue saidThey are from... ( I'm guessing, India, Srilanka, or Pakistan)

They are not american perverted trailer trash.
Like I said before...
Any Identity stolen would only improve that identity.
We are talking about a house where you have an ex-con, unemployable, who's covered in prison tats and huge and a drunk.
The misses has had two bankruptcies.
The step son has done nothing ever and that is the worst credit to have.
So, like I said...any Identity theft would only improve our indentities.
