I am talking about bread that is already uniformly sliced when you buy it. Supposedly it's a great invention. How many people actually buy it on a regular basis? I think un-presliced bread is a great invention because you can decide yourself how thick you want the slices to be, and it doesn't dry up as easily. Also, the best bread usually comes unsliced, although on rare occasions I have bought sliced bread because it was the best bread available in that shop at that time.

The best unsliced bread is hard dough bread. It's very versatile, very filling and goes great with Jamaican beef patties.

I buy sliced bread on a weekly basis. The restraining order says I'm not allowed near knives.

I use an electric knife to cut my hard dough bread....great stress reliever..

well the great thing about sliced bread is that is come in all sorts of thickness, no knifes get dirty having to cut the brown ergo saving the world water in wasting up, less mess and there's no who the fiddles cut this before me when you go to get your bread. another great thing about sliced bread is that if you don't need all of it you can put slices in bag by how many you think you will need, very cost effective.

saying all that i also prefer non-sliced bread and would only very rarely buy a good sliced brown bread.

Some people pull the brown part off of their bread (drives me nuts) so they end up making a mess anyway.

If you have three teenage boys in the house you learn to value the service of the bakery to cut it in slices for you. The bread goes with one meal anyway. Having it cut reduces the discussions on just portions...

I prefer my bread aurally sliced.
