For the nelightenment of our non-german speaking friends I continue in English:

My wife has experimented with bread baking, Pumpernickel was obne experiment (beware of the long time it takes to bake!). So yes I ahve seen a loaf of Pumpernickel. But it is difficult to cut with a knife. I think they have special machines at the Pumpernickel factories.
