Lying to insurance companies will not only fail to get your claim paid out but could also get you prosecuted. Insurance companies tend to take this seriously and will make an example of perpetraters.
They will use any excuse to finagle their way out of coughing up.
(I know from bad experiences) I would definitely lie next time - I thoroughly recommend it. ๐

It's a sad state of affairs when some scumbag steals your motorbike on new year's day. I love my motorbike. It's a part of me. I've reported it to the police but i doubt very much i'll see it again.
I'm annoyed at myself because i didn't chain it up over night. I can't get in touch with my insurers. I'm not sure if i'm covered. Any of you guys know?
Sorry your new year is off to a bad start.

They check chess websites. They are currently reading this thread.
Some ridiculous crap about the first £250 not being payable......friggin' jokers all of 'em.

I don't have time to use it as I'm always playing chess.

Touchy hum? If you want advice on insurance I suggest you get out your policy and read the small print! 'Cos we can't! And, actually, I drive a very fast and sophisticated and luxurious car; that's fully comp and I don't give a toss where I park, nor do I have to chain it up like a dog!
