@great-big-stees saidWith a granddad like him, she's got to be talented.
Sticking with it?🤔
@torunn saidVery Good,

@torunn saidYes indeed, I hadn't had my morning coffee yet, I got it now I believe I am addicted to coffee, well best to stick to that than my other addiction. It is true if you give up one addiction you wind up taking up another.

@very-rusty saidI’ll stick with my one, occasionally two, beer a day. 😀

@great-big-stees saidGood for you for being able to stop at two my old friend.
I’ll take a stab and stick in, 20 years.🤔
I couldn't stick to just 2. 1 was too many and 1000 wasn't enough.

@gambrel saidAs you know it is important to let her do what most interests her.
Slowly she's catching on. When she was quite young she knew how to set up the pieces. The last year she's been interested in art and music. So she plays guitar more than she plays chess.
Nice that you introduced her to the game, she would learn a lot from you if she should show more interest in the future. Kids jump around to different things they like to do.
I actually learned how the pieces moved before I was teenager. Didn't play for years and today here I am. 😉

@very-rusty saidSchools in some countries e.g. France have chess as a school subject with good results not only in chess but on the whole. Kids learn focus, structure and discipline.

@torunn saidI am also told it helps with math and solving problems.
