The post that was quoted here has been removedTheir where actually three votes yesterday
(1) For mayor
(2) For local
(3) For London assembley member.
I suspect that people will use the local vote as a opp to have a go at Lab and vote lib / con / bnp etc.
When it comes to Mayor, I suspect that Ken will win, but by only a small % as the others lack the ability for leading London
As for the assemby vote, not sure, personally I voted respect as they always seem to make it a bit more interesting compared to the other parties in the London Assemby
The ironic thing about Ken is that everything he does has to be agreed by the assemby, thus people may blame him for the Con charge for example, but this was agreed by the assemby as a whole, so in theory you should be blaming the member that you voted for not the person that suggested the idea.

The whole notion of voting for 'anyone other than' is ridiculous. Voting should be done on who you think most capable of running London, not on some 'I don't like him, so my vote will be cast randomly elsewhere' act. But as usual in this country nobody wants to change anything, they just want to show their contempt for what currently exists.

Powerful imagination you've got there, must be the LSD.
You are so out of touch.
I suppose you can explain away the result of the democratic vote then π
Can you adequately explain why you think Boris Johnson is suitable ot run London?

Early results from the election count suggest Conservative candidate Boris Johnson is ahead in the race to become the next mayor of London. (quote BBC News Website)

'To run London' and 'Londoners' are not concepts that sit well in the same sentence. London is a beast that turns it's head as it wills, and God save those in the path of it's tail.
I hope they get someone entertaining, whatever their political affiliation. I find Boris most amusing.
No one should have to vote to oppose the BNP. They should be gassed. End of.
EDIT: Boris has won has he? This should be fun...

Some off my friends came around tonight and while we where GTA'ing, we talked about this.
A lot felt that whilst Ken was ok....they needed a change.....2 years was enough
So in effect they picked Boris or Haddock because they needed a change.
So well done Boris.....lets see if you can change your ways a little and not offend anyone too much.....:'(:'(
