@moonbus saidThe limerick competition seems to have gone down rather well so, yes, I plan to bring it back for Halloween. Allow for a few spooky rhymes etc. I think I'll extend the time frame to a week and award the winners as on this occasion according to thumbs up.
@neilarini
Would you host another round? Haiku?
Apologies to anyone for cancelling a voting process but I felt that the success of the limericks was their ease to write and read (and thumb up). Voting separately would mean re-reading them and I was unsure how many people would do so. Having counted the thumbs up I felt the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed winners were worthy winners.
As for a haiku competition? I'm not sure. (I didn't know what a haiku was for starters). Rookie has a successful thread in spirituality featuring similar quotes. I think it would be a good idea to come up with our own haiku, possibly adding poems and aphorisms as well. This could be trialled as an open thread (rather than a comp).
If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions please share them.
